Federal Board of intermediate and secondary education (FBISE) is the responsible for all educational matters at secondary and higher secondary level in city Islamabad. The high schools, higher secondary schools and inter colleges of cantonment and garrison and Federally Administered Northern Areas (FANA) are affiliated with this board. This board was established in 1975. Since then it conducts the examination of matriculation and intermediate in this area. This board is also under the ministry of education in Punjab board. The board has also started the different courses for the children of this area. The board has introduced the several programs for the students of intermediate level which are F.A, F.Sc, ICS & I.Com. The students of this class choose the on special group of subjects according to their mental level or taste.
Federal board conducts the examination of intermediate in the month of May. A large number of students take part in these exams. Board register the students for the exams before the three months ago from the conduction of exams. The board will announce the date sheet of exams in the month of March. Board provides the opportunity to failing students to appear in the exams more then one time. There are two parts of intermediate examination and the conduction of first part occur after the second part. Board will be issue the date sheet of both parts at the same time. The exams of intermediate will be held in the month of May. It is expected that exams will be start from the first week of May. The board will be issue the roll no slips to the register candidates seven days ago from the exams.
